Suyog Khose completed his Ph.D. thesis at the Department of Agricultural and Food Engineering, Indian Institute of Technology Kharagpur, where he specialized in Land and Water Resources Engineering. His doctoral research, titled “UAV-based Multispectral Image Analytics for Mapping Abiotic Stresses and Rice Yield,” focuses on integrating remote sensing, UAV imagery, and AI/ML algorithms to support precision agriculture and sustainable water management. He completed his M.Tech in the same department in 2020, securing a distinction with 92.8% and earning the Best M.Tech Thesis Award. He earned his B.Tech in Agricultural Engineering from CAET, VNMKV Parbhani in 2018, graduating as the topper of his batch. Suyog has an impressive academic track record, having qualified GATE (AIR 88), ICAR-JRF (AIR 15), ICAR-SRF (AIR 12), and the ASRB-NET examination in Land and Water Management Engineering. He is the recipient of multiple fellowships from MHRD for his postgraduate and doctoral studies. His research contributions include 16+ peer-reviewed journal articles, 10 book chapters, 3 authored/edited books, and participation in over 17 national and international conferences, including the prestigious EGU General Assembly 2023 in Vienna, Austria. He actively contributes to academic publishing as a reviewer for international journals and is a life member of the Indian Society of Agricultural Engineering, Indian Society of Remote Sensing, and other professional bodies.
Suyog has also demonstrated a strong commitment to agricultural extension and community outreach. He co-founded and served as Director of the Agricultural Training Institute (ATI), Ahmednagar, where he played a vital role in designing and delivering training programs on precision agriculture, irrigation technologies, and digital agriculture tools. Under his leadership, ATI trained over 25,000 farmers and more than 3,000 agricultural graduates, contributing to knowledge dissemination and capacity building at the grassroots level. In recognition of these efforts, ATI received the National Agri-Education Award 2021 for Excellence in Training and Placement from the Agriculture Today Group. Suyog was also honoured with the State Level Krishi Prerana Puraskar by Agrocare Krishimanch, Maharashtra, for his outstanding work in agricultural education, extension, and research. In addition to his research and training roles, Suyog has developed the “Aerial Information Mapper (AIM)”, a software tool that integrates UAV and satellite data analytics with machine learning models for mapping critical agronomic parameters. His technical skills span a wide range of tools and platforms, including Pix4D, QGIS, ArcGIS, DJI Terra, Python, Hydrus-1D, and CROPWAT, making him a versatile expert in agricultural engineering, smart irrigation, and geospatial technologies.
